It makes an interesting alternative to something like the Glock 26. I had a custom gun do something similar and gunsmith machined a micro amount off and it has run flawlessly. The important thing is that she absolutely loves her new EMP I like it too. ![]() Oh, the EMP costs at least twice what the Glock costs So, while the EMP is just a tad heavier, and has the longer grip, it has a much slimmer profile, shorter slide, and is much easier for smaller hands to reach around the grip, and to reach the trigger. Glock trigger reach, from back of grip to trigger = 2 3/4" Glock slide width and length = 1", 6 1/4"ĮMP trigger reach, from back of grip to trigger = 2 1/2" ![]() In all, my wife's groups were better than mine, she really had some tight EMP groups.įor futher comparison between the EMP and Glock26, I have some home measured specs below:ĮMP slide width and length = 7/8", 5 1/4" Her group was about the same size, but maybe 2" left of center, perhaps due to the much longer and harder trigger on the Glock compared to the short crisp trigger on the EMP. I put my Glock group at about 4.5" on target. But man, the EMP has such a nicer grip and trigger pull. Recoil between the EMP and Glock is about equal. She was in the market recently for a single stack 9, and the EMP was what she picked. Over a decade ago, I bought her a Glock 26, but she didn't like it at all and it quickly became mine. She loves the Beretta for range time, but really loves the snubbie for carry. She already has a Beretta 92 compact and a S&W 637. My wife bought a Springfield EMP 9mm for herself.
